Authorities continue to search for a toddler who was swept away by floodwater in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Wednesday night.
At about 8:44 p.m. Wednesday, Ardmore police and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers began searching for a 2-year-old toddler who was swept from his father's arms in heavy floodwater at Hickory Creek, near Myall Road in Ardmore.

According to local newspaper The Ardmoreite, the rescue was called off due to the weather conditions, and it resumed at 7 a.m. Thursday. Unfortunately the boy has not yet been located and now rescue crews fear the worst.
Details on how the pair ended up in the creek have not yet been released. The father grabbed on to a tree in an attempt to keep from being washed further down the creek, but the strong current washed the boy out of his grasp.
The father and son have not yet been identified.

News 9 was initially told it was a girl who was swept away by floodwater. Thursday morning, Ardmore police confirmed it was actually a boy who is missing.
