Arrest Warrants Issued For Two Suspects In Del City Deadly Shooting

Authorities have issued arrest warrants for two suspects in connection to the shooting death of a man outside a Del City strip club early Saturday morning.

According to the Oklahoma County District Court, 24-year-old Jose Daniel Katz and 30-year-old Angel Luis Lopez are wanted on complaints of first-degree murder, in connection to the death of 25-year-old Christopher Rhodes.

Rhodes was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Fantasy Island strip club, located at 3220 Tinker Diagonal, at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. 

While investigating the scene, officers said they were approached by a man who claimed to be Lopez’s friend. That man said an acquaintance had received a call from Lopez, stating he needed to be picked up at Fantasy Island.

The friend told police the other suspect, Katz, was at the strip club with Lopez at the time. He said he talked to Katz’s brother, who said Katz and Lopez were "doing a deal" in the parking lot with another man. That man pulled a pistol when the deal went bad. So Katz and Lopez shot the man in self-defense and ran away from the scene, Lopez's friend told police. 

Police said they found a cell phone in the parking lot that belonged to Katz. Investigators located blood droplets and a set of car keys next to a spent 9mm shell casing. Officers activated the remote on the keys and the lights on a Chevy pickup turned on. The tag on that vehicle checked back to Lopez. Lopez’s driver’s license was also found inside his truck.

According to police, Katz and Lopez may attempt to leave the country.
