One Dead After Multi-Vehicle Crash On EB I-44, West Of Wellston

One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 44, just west of Wellston, Okla., Friday afternoon.

First responders were called out to the scene on the Turner Turnpike, near mile marker 155. Five vehicles and a semi were involved in the crash.

Authorities confirm that one person died in the crash, but did not say if anyone else was injured. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Traffic on the highway was completely blocked in the area, with vehicles being backed up for miles. The highway was reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
