Police Investigate Deadly Shooting In SW OKC

Police are on the scene of a deadly shooting in a southwest Oklahoma City neighborhood, Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called out to the home, located in the 7900 block of S. Villa Ave., just after 1:30 p.m. The home sits less than a miles from the campus of Oklahoma City Community College.

Authorities say one victim was located at the scene, dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Witnesses tell News 9 they were told by police that the altercation began when a man attempted to steal a truck from an area home. The homeowner came running outside with a firearm, shooting and killing the would-be truck thief.  

The victim’s identity has not been released at this time. So far, police have not released any suspect information.
