A former Edmond band director is accused of soliciting a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, Edmond police reported.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Cameron Kyle Kedy, 27, who worked as a band director at Edmond Memorial High School. He will be arrested on a charge of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology.
On May 18, the 17-year-old's mother told police she discovered her daughter was receiving inappropriate text messages and that the girl said she was having a sexual relationship with the teacher, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Kedy, who denied knowing the girl at first, told police he had been communicating with the girl through an app called Kik and that they made up different screen names so that nobody would be suspicious of their relationship, according to court documents.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Kedy told police the girl stayed the night at his house and in his bed numerous times but denied any sexual relationship with her.
Police found a large number of deleted text messages from the app showing Kedy and the girl talking about the girl coming over to stay the night and a possible sexual situation between the two of them.
Police believe Kedy is out of the state.
