MWC Police: Father Killed While Aiding Disabled Son

A 51-year-old man was killed about 1:45 a.m. Saturday in a Midwest City duplex, authorities said.

Midwest City police said the homicide occurred in the 8700 block of St. George Way.

Investigators think the victim's son, who police said is a paraplegic, got into some sort of altercation with a person in the home.

His dad came to his aid and was killed, according to law enforcement.

Midwest City police officers are working with Oklahoma City police on the case.

The manner of death or the motive have not been released, but investigators think the victim's son knew one of them.

Police said they are actively searching for additional people who may have been involved. One person is in custody in connection with the death. Additional charges are possible, police said.
