A child suffered minor injuries in an accident in front of an elementary school in south Oklahoma City, Tuesday morning.
According to police, at about 8 a.m., officers responded to the accident in front of Cesar Chavez Elementary near S.E. Grand Blvd. and Byers.
The investigation revealed that a five year-old boy was running across the drop-off lane when he ran into the side of a pick-up truck that was moving forward at a slow rate of speed. After striking the side of the pick-up, the boy fell down and one of the truck tires brushed against the child’s leg, causing an abrasion.
The child was taken to an area hospital to be checked out, but appears to only have suffered the knee abrasion, according to police.
The driver of the truck, 35-year-old Rosalea Ladin, was arrested for not having a driver’s license.
