A vigil was held Sunday night on the Bethany High School football field for Hudson Haws.

He suffered three broken vertebrae while trying to make a tackle in Friday night's game.

Students and parents all gathered as the team's head coach addressed the crowd.

"What breaks my heart is knowing what he's about to have to fight and go through," Bethany head football coach Reagan Roof said.

Haws, a senior, was taken by medical helicopter from the field in Blanchard and currently remains paralyzed below the waist.
