Body Discovered Near Newcastle Casino

Homicide investigators are looking for clues after a body was discovered near Newcastle Casino, Thursday night.

Authorities tell News 9 the man's body was discovered by an officer during a routine patrol around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. The victim was found in a cul de sac just north of the casino, with signs of trauma consistent with homicide.

Newcastle Police and investigators with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) are looking into the crime.

The identity of the victim will be released pending notification of next of kin.

So far no arrests have been made. The state medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
