A Luther man said he caught thieves burglarizing his house, and he held them at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
"They carried stuff out of there anything from furniture to clothing to junk metal," Jonathan Buzzard said.
Buzzard said he caught the suspects burglarizing his house for about the fourth time. He owns the place but doesn't live there. He uses it for storage.
On his way home Sunday afternoon, he saw the door wide open and found someone inside who then ran out the back door.
"So then I went to go around the house to see who it was," he said.
There was a car waiting in the back with two other people inside.
"And it started coming towards me, and I pulled a pistol out and they kept on coming towards me. So I pointed the gun off to the side, and shot one into the ground," he said.
They stopped the car.
"And proceeded to beg me not to call the police," Buzzard said.
But he did and held them at gunpoint until deputies got there.
"I didn't want them to get away," he said.
They did not, and police took Tyler Muck into custody. The two others with him were a pregnant woman and an underage girl. Neither of them were arrested.
"I'm just hoping maybe they learn their lesson," Buzzard said. "Maybe they'll actually straighten up."
Muck is facing several charges including burglary, stealing copper and trespassing.
