A Guthrie mother of three was killed in a car crash, and now her family is looking for the dog lost in the accident.
Stephanie Smith lost control of her car near Canton and was ejected from the vehicle.
“Right now we are focused on the kids,” said Smith’s sister-in-law Amber Frith.
Smith, a mother of three, was returning from Woodward where her husband works when the crash occurred Saturday Morning. Her dog was also in the vehicle and has been lost ever since.
“She means a lot to those kids,” said Frith about the dog named Allie.
Frith hopes people near the “Canton Y,” where Hwy 270 and Hwy 51 meet, will help look for the red heeler. She told News 9, the animal was spotted Sunday but was too skittish and ran away.
“Some people might think it’s just a dog, but to those kids its part of their family,” Frith said.
If you see the dog, please call us at News 9 at (405)-841-9956 and we’ll pass that information along to the family. Allie has a microchip.
Smith’s family has also set up a Go Fund Me account to help the children.
