Tonight marks the halfway point of the Thunder’s season. It’s gone by fast, right?
Forty games in, Oklahoma City is 28-12 and sitting third in the Western Conference behind Golden State (37-3) and San Antonio (35-6).
Friday night’s opponent, Minnesota (12-28), is going in the opposite direction. The T-Wolves have lost eight-in-a-row, including a 101-96 loss to the Thunder on Tuesday.
OKC held a 14-point lead going into the fourth quarter but Minnesota staged a late charge and cut it to three with just over three minutes remaining. At that point Kevin Durant took over and scored 12 points in the final three minutes to close out the win for the Thunder.
Durant finished with 30 points and 7 rebounds while Russell Westbrook chipped in 22 points and 11 assists. Enes Kanter had 18 points on 8 of 10 shooting off the bench.
Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Muhammad and Zach LaVine each scored 20+ for the Timberwolves.
Oklahoma City is 18-5 at home this season. Minnesota is 7-11 on the road.
