Despite the overnight storms, more grass fie flare ups have been reported in areas around the Oklahoma City metro area, on Tuesday.

Crews were first called to extinguish a grass fire that was started at 11001 E. I-44, close to the westbound side of the Turner Turnpike, near Luther. The fire burned on the shoulder of the highway for a ways before moving into the treeline. Some structures were in the vicinity of the fire, but nothing was damaged.

According to OKC Fire Department spokesperson Benny Fulkerson, approximately 15 acres of land burned along the turnpike, between Anderson and Post Rd.

Another small grass fire was then reported in the 9600 block of Hefner Village Blvd. That fire was quickly contained.

Then around 2 p.m. another grass fire was reported near Maud, Okla. Details on that fire are not available at this time.

The causes of the fires have not yet been determined.
