An alleged burglar was arrested Friday morning after police say he broke into a residence on the 6500 block of E. Wilshire in Oklahoma City, suffered a gun shot, and fled the scene.

The suspect, 37-year-old Vernon Wyatt, has been charged with burglary in the first degree and assault and battery.

OKC police apprehended Wyatt near Wilshire and Sooner Rd. He was transported to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition. He will later be taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.
