We are frequently seeing drone video as more and more of the unmanned aircraft take to the skies.

Oklahoma City first news drone is now ready for flight.

Drone 9 weighs five pounds and its operating speed is roughly 25 mph.

On Tuesday, the drone hovered 150 feet off the ground near Cushing’s vast oil storage facility.

“It gets the shots we can’t,” said Bob Mills SkyNews 9 helicopter pilot Jim Gardner.

Gardner operates Drone 9 with a remote from the ground.

A certified pilot must operate any drone for commercial use.

There are other strict FAA regulations.

The aircraft can’t fly over 400 feet.

The drone also can’t fly within five miles of an airport, three miles of an uncontrolled airport, and two miles within a helicopter pad.
