The Thunder have added Denver guard Randy Foye to the mix in their only move before the trade deadline. Certainly not the home run two-way player Thunder fans dreamed of but still a solid move monetarily with the possibility that Foye can surprise in a healthier environment in OKC.
As you can see from some numbers I’ve put together below, his shooting has been awful. But he’s had to create more than he’s constructed to do and now he now will have the ultimate luxury of having the planet’s best scorer help space the floor and an assist machine in Rusty Westbrook dealing him balls that will allow him much more space to open jumpers than he’s been getting. Lord knows he can’t be worse from 3-point land than the Thunder’s current “shooting” guards, Dion Waiters and Andre Roberson.
The Thunder gave up third team point guard D.J. Augustin and deep-bench reserve Steve Novak, along with a pair of second round picks for Foye. And you can never have too many high-quality character guys, which Foye undeniably has always been.
