Formal charges have been filed against a man identified as a suspect in a nationwide Amber Alert out of El Reno, and in a machete attack that critically injured two others.
According to court documents, Arcenio De Jesus, 39, has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon in connection to an attack that happened late Wednesday night at a home in the 200 block of Elm Street in El Reno.
As of 2 p.m., police said one of the attack victims, Luciano Salazar, is listed in fair/stable condition, and the other victim, Juan Rangel, is undergoing reconstructive surgery but is listed in critical/ stable condition. Investigators were able to speak to Salazar very briefly on Thursday, and he indicated that Arcenio De Jesus was in fact responsible for the attack on him and on Rangel, but Salazar was not able to provide a motive in the attack.

An Amber Alert was then issued for De Jesus’ daughter, 8-year-old Mabel Lopez. Police said following the attack, De Jesus took off with the girl and his wife, 33-year-old Miria Lopez-Rodriguez, also known as Maria Lopez or Maria Ramierez, who is listed as an additional victim in this Amber Alert. They are believed to be en route to Mexico in a gray 2005 Ford Explorer with an Oklahoma license plate 689LHD.

Police said the child and De Jesus’ wife are in danger.
Police also determined, based on a GPS ping, that De Jesus, Miria and Mabel entered Texas near Gainesville Thursday morning. There have been no other leads as to the whereabouts or possible destination of De Jesus at this time.
