Felony Charges Filed Against Accused OKC Pill Mill Doctor

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt filed 29 felony charges against metro doctor Harvey C. Jenkins, Jr., for allegedly running an operation to dispense prescription pills without a legitimate medical purpose, also known as a pill mill.

The attorney general began investigating Dr. Harvey Jenkins, owner of Aria Orthopedics in 2012.

In January 2015, state investigators raided Aria Orthopedics, 8603 S. Western. Agents with the Attorney General's Office and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control confiscated a number of items from Dr. Jenkins'

"The business practices of Dr. Jenkins are questionable," Attorney General Scott Pruitt said, "there is evidence to show Jenkins was using his role as a physician to operate a 'pill mill.'

 After raiding Aria Orthopedics, the state suspended Dr. Jenkins' license to dispense controlled dangerous substances. The state suspended his medical license in February 2015.

Court documents filed today contain more than 200 pages outlining the Attorney General's case against Jenkins. He now faces 29 felony counts and one misdemeanor of conspiracy to illegally possess, distribute, dispense or prescribe controlled dangerous substances within 2,000 feet of a public park.

Arrest warrants have been issued for five other people.
