OKC Police: After Given Free Meal, Woman Beats, Robs Sonic Employee

Oklahoma City police arrested a woman who is accused of beating and robbing a Sonic employee, even after she was given free food by generous workers at the restaurant.

According to police, late Monday night, officers responded to the incident at Sonic near N.W. 23rd and Penn. Workers there told police that the suspect, 28-year-old Briana Lee, had pulled into the drive-in and ordered food.

When Lee’s card was declined, police said the workers generously gave her the food for free. After a brief time, Lee pushed the button again, asking for napkins.

A carhop went outside to deliver the napkins to Lee. That’s when police said Lee sprayed the carhop in the face with mace. Lee reportedly then threw the victim down, kicked the victim in the ribs before stealing the victim’s apron with cash in it. She then drove away from the scene. 

Officers were able to quickly track down the suspect vehicle and make a traffic stop. Lee was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of assault and battery, and first-degree robbery. A bond has not been set.

Police said Lee is a multi-convicted felon and has spent several years in prison.

The carhop had to be transported to the hospital, but is thankfully going to be OK.
