Emergency crews are headed to the scene of a possible natural gas explosion at a home in El Reno, Wednesday afternoon.

According to El Reno Police, one victim was taken to an Oklahoma City Hospital with injuries sustained in the blast at a home in the 1100 block of S. Hadden Ave., near W. Elm St. and S. Choctaw Ave.

That person’s condition was not immediately available, however, a medical helicopter was used to transport that person from the scene.

The cause of the explosion is not known at this time, but was so violent it completely destroyed the interior of the house, shifted the roof and sent debris flying in all directions. No other homes in the area appear to have suffered damage from the explosion.
