El Reno Public Schools To Launch Food Truck To Feed OK Students

El Reno Public Schools wants to make sure Oklahoma students don't miss a meal this summer just because the cafeterias are closed.

With the help of a USDA grant, the district has launched a food truck that will make stops at several locations around town throughout the week.

One of the district's vans got a makeover. It's being called "Fast Trax" and has the school's logo on the front and back as well as the ability to serve food.

School officials say students 18 years and younger from any school will eat free, while parents and residents can buy meals from the truck.

You can check out the truck every Monday through Thursday starting May 31. Jeff Edwards, director of child nutrition, told the El Reno Tribute that the food truck will make stops starting at 10:30 a.m. at Adams Park, near Memorial Stadium. Each stop will last for 30 minutes.

The truck will then make its way to Frank Knight Park from 11 a.m. to 11:30, before heading to Wesley United Methodist Church for a stop from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Following that, the truck will move to Hillcrest from noon to 12:30 p.m. The final stop will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Legion Park.
