There are no words to describe the pain and horror that friends and family are feeling right now over the death of 8-month-old Ezekiel Veloz.
A GoFundMe page was posted just hours after word got out about the tragedy that happened at the Cambridge Landing Apartments.
This is where police say they found baby Ezekiel, his 4-year-old sister, his mother and father.
The state medical examiner's office said the boy's cause of death was multiple stab wounds and said the manner of death was a homicide.
But officers say the mother's injuries appear self-inflicted.
Neighbors said police and fire crews had to break down the door to get in.
“They seemed so happy, no arguing, no fighting, nothing,” said Titus Gaddis.
Gaddis lives in the next unit over and said he often saw the family walking to their upstairs apartment.
“They'd be playing around and then they go in the house,” said Gaddis. “I never heard anything come from the house.”
Other neighbors said the family had just moved from a one-bedroom unit at the complex to a two-bedroom unit a couple weeks ago.
A peak inside the apartment shows baby clothes and toys still in trash bags, a cross that has fallen from the wall and a crib that had been destroyed. There are also blood stains all over the breezeway.
Police have detained the mother identified as 21-year-old Raven Veloz. She is accused of murder and two complaints of assault with a deadly weapon.
A search of Veloz's Facebook page reveals another recent tragedy.
A GoFundMe page was posted in January after the death of another daughter who reportedly died of SIDS. The state medical examiner's office ruled the death as natural and that the baby died from complications of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection.
Veloz is under police custody at a local hospital.
Police said both her boyfriend and 4-year-old daughter are also in the hospital but no word on their conditions.
