Woman Charged With Murder, Assault After Deadly Stabbing

A young mother who stabbed herself and her entire family is now charged with first degree murder.

Raven Veloz, 21, is also facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon for the attack that left her 8-month-old son dead, and her daughter and former boyfriend scarred for life.

Tuesday morning, News 9 spoke with the boyfriend who was stabbed. He said he was released from the hospital on Saturday and so was Veloz's 4-year-old daughter.

But they are not doing any interviews at this time.

As for Veloz, police said she is still in the hospital and has not been booked into the Oklahoma County jail yet.

It was July 11 when Oklahoma City police officers were called to the Cambridge Landing Apartments near SW 89 and Drexel, after getting a call about a 28-year-old man who had been stabbed.

Court papers state that man, identified as Sergio Garcia, told them he had been "assaulted by his wife with a knife," and that she was "still inside the apartment along with their two kids."

When police and fire crews arrived to apartment 514, they had to break down the door to get in. Inside they found 8-month-old Ezekiel Veloz dead, and his 4-year-old sister and mother covered in blood.

All had been stabbed several times, and court papers reveal Raven was still holding a knife in her hands and had another knife lying on the floor next to her.

Garcia told investigators that he and Raven Veloz had recently separated but  that she had called him earlier that day and asked him to come over and help her since she was being evicted from their apartment.

He stated they all went to sleep on the living room floor that night and that he woke up to Raven Veloz stabbing him with a knife.

Turns out, this is the second tragedy to rock this young family.

A search of Raven Veloz's Facebook page revealed a GoFundMe page posted back in January after the death of their 1-year-old daughter. The medical examiner’s report states the child died of RSV.
