But court papers filed Thursday in Oklahoma County Court, show a very different side to this married father of four.
They state he and Lincoln's mother had been in a relationship for about a year without his wife or her knowing he was actually having an affair.
The affidavit goes on to reveal an even darker side to the smiling dentist.
It states, Franklin was very controlling of Lincoln's mother, and he made statements in the past about his hatred towards Lincoln's biological father - stating he "threatened to kill him" and "skin him in Bricktown".
Court papers show that during a police interview with Lincoln's mother, she told investigators that she and Franklin and the baby were all at her Northwest Oklahoma City home the night of July 16. She recalled hearing a loud noise or thud coming from her living room. She said Lincoln was there alone with Franklin, but Franklin claimed it was just him throwing a small ball to the puppy in the home.
Hours later, Lincoln Lewis was rushed by car to Mercy Hospital.
The police report states, his mother woke up and noticed him sleeping with his eyes open and making a loud snore sound but she couldn't wake him up.
Doctors diagnosed little Lincoln with a "skull fracture". The attending physician "believed the injuries were consistent with possible abuse".
Lincoln was rushed to the pediatric intensive care unit at Children's Hospital in Tulsa but died the next day.
News 9 spoke with Lincoln's mother by phone Thursday. She said she is just overwhelmed by what has happened and that Franklin was obviously leading a double life, and had fooled her and everyone else around him.
Lincoln’s funeral is set for Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church. A GoFundMe page has also been set up to pay for funeral costs.
