Police have identified a teenager who was killed after someone reportedly fired gunshots through the door and windows of an apartment in northeast Oklahoma City, late Sunday night.
According to police, just before 11:30 p.m. officers responded to the report of a shooting at an apartment in the 400 block of N.E. 115th Street.
Police said one, possibly two suspects walked up to the victim’s apartment and knocked on the door. As the victim, later identified as 16-year-old Dazmeontae Sayles, was walking to the door, the suspects began shooting through the door and windows of the apartment. They then took off from the scene.
Sayles was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
No arrests have been made, and police have not released a suspect description at this time.
This is Oklahoma City's 44th homicide of 2016, according to police.
