Officers are looking for a man accused of stealing a child prompting an Amber Alert Monday night, law enforcement officers reported.
Santiago Ruiz, 33, is accused of taking a 14-day-old girl about 5 p.m. Monday near Ada, the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office said.
Charlotte Ruiz was found safe Monday night and has been placed in protective custody.
While driving, Santiago Ruiz became violent and threw Charlotte's mother out of a Chevrolet pickup and drove away with the baby, deputies said. Ruiz may be driving toward Longdale, Oklahoma.
Santiago Ruiz is a Hispanic man and is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, and has brown eyes and long dark hair. He was last seen wearing a shirt with sleeves cut off and shorts. He has a tattoo of the word "Outlaw" on his left leg and multiple tattoos on both of his arms, deputies said.
Santiago Ruiz was last seen driving a white Chevrolet pickup extended cab with a Cheyenne-Arapaho tag with the number 016011.
Deputies said Santiago Ruiz may be under the influence of narcotics.
Anyone with information about Santiago Ruiz is asked to call 911.
