News 9's NextGen Live has the highest resolution of any radar in the state of Oklahoma. This cutting edge technology will give us a clearer picture of what's going on across the state when it comes to severe weather.
"You'll be able to zoom into your area and show where the thunderstorms are," said Steve Bray, Baron Meteorologist.
The resolution of our NextGen Live radar is unprecedented. This radar can see rain, snow, hail and tornadoes down to the size of a football field.
"It will help you from the inconvenient weather which is when it's going to rain, when it's going to sleet, when it's going to snow and that gets to the danger level and those kinds of seasons," said Bray.
We'll be able to see the threats much further out too. No other television station radar in Oklahoma or the NWS has a resolution this high, not even close.
"That's what we're after, to be able to have that kind of clarity for the audience immediately that this is where the danger is, this is what's coming your way," Bray said.
