Lloyd Buie’s alleged victim at Will Rogers World Airport not only was a long-time Southwest Airlines supervisor, he also played on the University of Oklahoma’s 1985 National Championship football team.
Mike Winchester was OU coaching legend Barry Switzer’s punter in 1984 and 1985.
Doug Kennon was a student athletic trainer on those teams.
He’s also the long-time owner of Sooner Legends Inn and Suites in Norman.
Kennon said he last saw Winchester two weeks ago at a gathering in Norman.
“I told him bye and see you again. I wish I had hugged him and told him I loved him, and how much he meant to me, because you don’t always get that chance,” he said.
Winchester leaves behind his wife and six children. One of his children is James who also played football for OU, and currently is the long snapper for the Kansas City Chiefs.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to the Winchester family. Click here if you would like to donate.
