Double Shooting In NW OKC Leads To One Man's Death

One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a double shooting in northwest Oklahoma City, police said.

Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots around 4 p.m. Monday.

Police rushed to the neighborhood near NW 10 and Indiana.

When they arrived, one man was dead and another man was fighting for his life.

Police said both men, who have not been identified, suffered from gunshot wounds. 

Several neighbors and friends claimed to know the victim who was found shot to death in the parking lot of a nearby apartment.

"I kept telling him, 'don't go up on that corner,' and then this happened in that area," Yvonne said the victim called her Miss Y.

She's lived in the neighborhood for 22 years.

"So much craziness is going on out here," she explained that the crime has become worse in recent years.

Several witnesses agreed by saying their neighborhood is known as a place where people get shot.

In this case, Oklahoma City police said it is unclear who is responsible for the shooting.

The second victim, who police found shot in the middle of the street, is in critical condition.

Police are expected to release more information on the circumstances surrounding the shooting by Tuesday morning.
