The sexual misconduct case involving a Yukon High School chemistry teacher continues to unfold. Last Friday, we first brought you the story of 22-year-old Hunter Day and her alleged 16-year-old unnamed victim.
Court documents show the teen claims he and Day were "friends with benefits" for close to a month before Day was arrested. The teen says he had sex with his teacher at her home in Yukon back on November 14. The victim goes further to say he and Day were exchanging sexual, sometimes nude photos through Snapchat, and there were plans to meet again on November 16.
In Day’s affidavit, the boy's father says his son was spending a lot of time with the teacher and he had suspicions about their relationship.
However, Canadian County deputies intercepted the next few messages and phone calls. They set up a sting, asking Day if a supposed date with the victim was still happening. They wanted to see if the teacher would go through with it again.
“She indicated that it was," Canadian County Sheriff Chris West said, "and that the boy needed to hurry up so that they could meet before her husband got home from work."
Pretending to be the teen, deputies showed up to the teacher's home. Investigators say Day texted the teen's phone, saying the door was unlocked, “as usual.” When deputies opened it, they saw Day sitting on the floor with lit candles. After a few moments deputies Day agreed to let them in. They say she was wearing a Christmas-themed shirt with a cat on it and workout shorts. After questioning, those who made the arrest said Day admitted to having sex with the victim and that she had planned on doing it again.
Day has since bonded out of jail and is currently charged with second degree rape and soliciting sex with a minor by use of technology.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Day was charged with possession of child pornography.
