Authorities are looking for the person or persons responsible for cutting the ears off a puppy. The injured pup was found on the 1600 block of SW 28th Street.
Officials with Oklahoma City Animal Welfare say a resident heard whining outside and and discovered the injured puppy.
The puppy had both of its ears cut off at the scalp, but fortunately did not suffer any hearing loss from to the maiming, animal welfare officials say. The pup, named “Rocky” by the staff, is recovering in a foster home.
“It’s just heartbreaking to imagine what this poor puppy had to go through during that experience when it was happening,” said OKC Animal Welfare Superintendent Jon Gary. “I mean we know that there is a link between animal abuse and domestic violence and violence among people and so it’s important that we do our jobs well and try to figure out who is responsible for doing this.”
Now authorities are looking for the owners of the pup, and for information about who is responsible for injuring him.
If you know anything about this crime, you are asked to call Animal Welfare at (405) 297-3117.
