A major pot bust landed one woman in jail in Canadian County.
Canadian County deputies arrested Julia Ortiz after they found 72.5 pounds of marijuana in the car she was driving with her daughter.
Deputies pulled Ortiz over for multiple traffic violations on Nov. 30 on Interstate 40 near the Kilpatrick Turnpike.
Ortiz told deputies she was on her way home to Arkansas from California where she was reportedly visiting her sick mother.
Her story didn't add up to deputies who found issues in her timeline.
After consenting to a search, deputies soon found two large duffel bags stuffed with nearly 75 pounds of weed, in the trunk of Ortiz's 2013 Hyundai Sonata.
She was arrested for drug trafficking, and child neglect. She bonded out on Monday
DHS took protective custody of her daughter.
The estimated street value of the drugs she was carrying $175,000.
