Police are investigating after a shooting inside a vacant Bartlesville home Sunday evening.

Police Captain Jay Hastings says just before 8 p.m., officers were called to a shooting in the 200 block of NW Rogers Street.

They arrived and spoke with the homeowner who said he come to the home to check on it.  That homeowner told police the home had recently been broken into.

Inside the home, Captain Hastings said the homeowner found a man hiding in the attic and confronted him.

At some point during that encounter, Captain Jay Hastings says the homeowner fired a shot, hitting the man once.

That man was taken to a Bartlesville hospital and later transported to a Tulsa hospital with what is being called a non-life threatening injury.
