A metro couple is in the Oklahoma County Jail, accused of prostitution and human trafficking out of a massage parlor.
Police arrested Joseph Fetterman, 34, and his wife Kanyarat Fetterman, 31, on Wednesday.
Oklahoma City Police led the investigation into the illegal business and received aid from other metro, federal and military law enforcement agencies.
“I guess you just never know what’s going on behind closed door,” said James Williams, business owner.
The doors of the Bangkok Massage Parlor on Southeast 29th Street in Del City will remain closed. The owner of the business next door was shocked when he saw a swarm of law enforcement outside the strip mall Wednesday morning.
“It was Homeland Security,” said Williams. “Del City Police Department and there was NCIS that were out there.”
It was the culmination of an eight-month investigation into the alleged illegal activities of Mr. Fetterman and his wife.
“What they learned during the investigation is that the Fettermans were supplying a place for prostitution to occur,” said Capt. Bo Mathews, Oklahoma City Police Department.
Police said Mrs. Fetterman ran the prostitution and human trafficking out of the massage parlor.
“She is from Thailand and she provided Thai girls to come over and assist in the prostitution,” said Mathews.
Once law enforcement received search warrants, investigators raided the massage parlor and the couple’s home.
“Their bank accounts were also frozen,” said Mathews. “So we can see all their assets they had during their criminal enterprise.”
An enterprise that neighboring business owners never knew about or even suspected.
“They seemed like normal, everyday people just trying to run a business,” said Williams. “You never got a whiff that that was going on.”
Mr. Fetterman is a 17-year Navy officer.
