One man is dead in Oklahoma City, after police say he was gunned down outside his home in northeast Oklahoma City, Friday.
Police arrived at the scene near Northeast 50th Street and Martin Luther King after they received calls of shots fired before 1:00 a.m. Police said they found 63-year-old Olen Gray deceased at the home. According to police, the victim was sitting outside on the porch before he was shot and found dead in the doorway by his mother.
Police said Gray 's mother, whom he was taking care of at the time was the one who made the discovery.
"She heard gunshots...woke up...went outside, found him back inside the door where he expired," said Michael Johnson, with OCPD.
Neighbors in the community said they are sad for many reasons.
"I'm just very sad about it just for somebody to lose their life period is a sad situation but he took care of his mom so now it's about what's gonna happen with her now. It makes it even sadder," said Quitina Traylor.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation and encourage anyone with information to contact police.
