How was your Saturday night? It probably wasn’t as fun as the people who partied at Russell Westbrook’s house.
According to ESPN's Royce Young, the Thunder guard reportedly hosted a summer house party near Lake Arcadia in Edmond. Sources report that 500 invites went out and it's rumored that rapper Nas will be performing.
It could have been just a fun summer get together, but free agency began Saturday night. The timing of the soiree is fueling speculation that Paul George will resign with the Thunder.
Of course, the Lakers could still very much be in play for George. Free agency will begin at 11 p.m., but there's been a lot of positive signs pointing to the re-sign.
Marc Stein of the New York Times wrote Saturday that George is strongly considering signing a 2-3 year deal with the Thunder. ESPN's Brian Windhorst had some positive things to say Friday on the Hoop Collective Show.
"The expectation in the league right now is that Paul is going to resign in Oklahoma City,” Windhorst said. “That doesn't mean that the Lakers won't go after him when they have the opportunity to on July 1st. That they won't pitch him. That doesn't mean that if the Lakers get a hold of Kawhi and then sign LeBron, that Paul won't look and go, oh my God, there's a spot there where I could be great. It doesn't mean that at all. But I do think that a lot of the league that a lot of the league, and when I say a lot of the league, I think also the players who are free agents too."
