Your 2 Cents: Gubernatorial GOP Candidate Mick Cornett’s New Ad

The race to become the GOP nominee for governor took a turn yesterday when the Mick Cornett campaign put out a new commercial.

They tweaked his opponent, Kevin Stitt's last name to ‘bull Stitt’, to label him as untruthful in his criticism of Cornett. 

In my opinion the ad is crass, but effective because so many people are talking about it. 

Here's what you had to say about it:

Cathy from Tulsa first: "It's not the cleverest ad I've seen......but I'm not particularly offended by it."

Michael says: "It's funny because it is true."

From Virginia: "I don't like the ad, but I like Mick Cornett, and appreciate all the work he did as mayor of OKC"

However, most of you who wrote in didn't like the ad at all:

Tina says: "I think it's disgusting!"

Jean writes: "So disappointed in Mick! He must be afraid of something to go so negative"

Anita in Norman says she's torn over it: "Mick had my and my husband's vote until the negativity started. We're not sure what we'll do now."

But Jana from Choctaw asks: "How's this ad any different from Stitt’s ad trashing Cornett?"

Victoria in Edmond said: "It's outrageous...It's beneath the common dignity of Oklahomans."

Leanne says: "These types of ads are ridiculous and makes them look like idiots."
