Mick Cornett Meets With Friendly Crowd At Guthrie Diner

It’s T-Minus six days till the run-off elections and both Republican candidates for governor are stumping in different parts of the state. 

The campaign trail took Republican Mick Cornett to Guthrie where he seems to have a lot of support at Katie’s Diner.

Katie’s diner is more than a good place to get a great omelet, it’s also a place where folks in Guthrie meet to talk about neighbors, life and politics. Wednesday, Mick Cornett gave them that opportunity; pressing the flesh, taking selfies, and answering questions about the campaign.

“It's rally about getting the vote out,” said Cornett. “I'll take my chances with who they vote for. My concern is that people forget or it just doesn’t seem important or get distracted or worry about other things. I just want to impress on people how important this election is."

People at Katie’s Diner were very receptive.

When asked who she plans to vote for Judy Damron, of Guthrie, enthusiastically said, " Of course Mick. I believe he's honest. I think he's a good guy. His track record is really good."

Guthrie resident Gary Good added, "Our state needs a lift right now. Mick's shown that he can do that."
