The Oklahoma State University Cowboys kicks off their football season Thursday in Stillwater and the city is pitching in to make game day parking easier.
Stillwater says more than 500 free parking spots will be available in downtown Stillwater.
According to the city, a free shuttle bus will pick up fans at 7th and Lewis starting at 4 p.m. It will run fans to and from Boone Pickens Stadium every 15 minutes.
You can track the shuttles on OSU's Ride Systems app or on the school's website.
Following the game, Stillwater says it is coordinating with OSU to help reduce travel times for traffic leaving town after football games.
The traffic management plan includes changes to signal timing and/or turn restrictions at key intersections along 6th Avenue/State Highway 51 and Main Street/Boomer Road. The timing and turn restrictions will be installed after the start of the game and removed approximately two hours after the end of the game.
And the University of Oklahoma Sooners will begin their football season Saturday morning, taking on Florida Atlantic at Memorial Stadium in Norman.
