An American bitcoin trader and another man remain behind bars, after the death of a woman in the Philippines' capital.

Troy Woody Jr is accused of killing his partner Tomi Michelle Masters, with the help of mutual friend Mir Islam in Manila.

Authorities allege the men, aged 21 and 22, strangled the 23-year-old, placed her body in a garbage bag and used a cab to transport and dump it in the Pasig River.

The cab's driver reported the pair's suspicious behavior to police, which led to the discovery of Masters' body.
