OSU Teammates Nickname First-Year LB Nick Martin The 'Missile'

The OSU Cowboys came up with a nickname for first-year starter Nick Martin, after quick and explosive plays ahead of Bedlam Saturday.

In Stillwater, the Cowboy Linebackers are all healthy (unlike OU) and have been making a lot of plays.

Venables singled out Nickolas Martin, a first-year starter, who is racking up tackles like crazy - 46 in the last 3 games combined.

Earning him a nickname among his teammates.

“Yeah, he calls [Martin] a missile. And I mean, I believe it. He’s everywhere on the field, and you know I’m happy for him and the way he’s been executing. I mean I’ve never seen many linebackers fly around the field like that in my life. But, it’s actually pretty amazing to see,” said OSU Defensive Tackle Collin Clay.
