Run To Remember: Woman Remembers Mother Lost In Murrah Building Bombing

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon honors the 168 lives lost in the Murrah Building Bombing.

Blayne Arthur ran the half-marathon Sunday in remembrance of her mother, Peggy Clark, who died in the bombing.

"This is very special for us, that everyone continues to run and remember all of those who were lost that day," Arthur said.

The race continues to bring together people affected by the tragedy.

"A gal behind me came up and she said, 'You don't know me, but I worked at the post office in Chickasha, which is where we lived and I knew your mom,'" Arthur said. "Well, she started crying, and I started crying before we even started."

Remembering what was lost that day is important to Arthur's family.

"She was an incredible lady. She was a veterinarian, worked for the USDA," Arthur said. "I have two sisters, and we could not have asked for a better mother. Very enthusiastic. Very funny. Very hard working and pushed us. Sometimes I think when I'm running and I get tired, I think she would say, 'Keep running, keep running, Get it done.'"
