A Chandler judge ruled Michael Porter will not have his 30-year-sentence reduced.
Porter pleaded guilty to enabling child abuse in connection with the death of two-year-old Kelsey Smith Briggs in 2005. He had asked for the sentence to be reduced because, he claims, it was excessive.
District Judge Paul Vasser ruled on Thursday that because Porter's sentence had come from a plea-deal, his sentence could not be reduced.
