Description

A sweet and savory dish for a full meal, or appetizer!


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (we usually use reduced sodium)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic)
  • optional: 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 lb medium uncooked shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Garnish: chopped green onion

Instructions

  1. Prep: In a small bowl whisk together the garlic, ginger, soy sauce and honey.
  2. Combine: Stir in the shrimp and allow this to sit in the refrigerator covered for 30 minutes
  3. Cook: Heat a skillet drizzled with olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Cook: Once the oil is smoking, stir in the shrimp. Shrimp on both sides until browned.
  5. Cook: Pour the remaining marinade over the top and continue to cook until the sauce thickens and becomes a little sticky.
  6. Serve: Serve over a bed of rice and garnish with green onions.
