ANTLERS, Oklahoma -- A sixth-grade reading teacher, her forest ranger husband and their college student son have been charged with growing marijuana at their home east of Antlers.
Katherine Henslee, 52, John Henslee, 53, and Alan Henslee, 21, all said they didn't know about the plants, according to court papers.
An affidavit filed in court last week said drug task force agents in a helicopter spotted marijuana plants growing along a path leading to the Henslee residence near Oklahoma 3 and the Kiamichi River bridge. The affidavit said the agents also found five plants in pots near a shop building on the property.
John Henslee is a forest ranger with the state Agriculture, Food and Forestry Department, state employment records show. Alan Henslee is a Southeastern Oklahoma State University student, according to Katherine Henslee's page on the Antlers schools Web site.
Katherine Henslee and Antlers school superintendent Mark Virden declined to comment when they were reached by telephone Saturday.
