OKLAHOMA CITY -- An off-duty Oklahoma City police officer is now in trouble with the law.
Logan County deputies arrested Sergeant Mike Lawson just a few minutes into the New Year for public intoxication. A deputy found him at the intersection of Waterloo Road and Western Avenue.
"He had indicated he had been in a verbal argument with his girlfriend and Logan County felt it was best to go to his residence and check on the welfare of his girlfriend and others that were at the residence," said Capt. Patrick Stewart. "They did that and they found there had been no physical altercation and no allegations of any misconduct."
Dawson is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an administrative investigation.
