OKLAHOMA CITY -- Authorities are searching for 29-year-old David Michael Cox after his family said he went under water at Lake Stanley Draper and never resurfaced Friday afternoon.

Dive teams searched for eight hours in the lake as Cox's family was left on the shore anxiously waiting.

Crews had to call off the search for the night, but they assured family that their loved one would be found.

Fire officials said Cox tried to swim across a cove, got about half way, tried to swim back, but couldn't make it and went under.

Cox's family said he was out at the lake with his brother and two young sons, who are both under the age of 10.

Firefighters and rescue crews will begin to search the area again Saturday morning. A dive team of about six divers are concentrating their search near Point 13.
