Christina Eckert is an Emmy-nominated and award-winning journalist with more than a decade of experience. Eckert joined the News 9 team in July 2010 and anchors News 9 at Noon and co-hosts News 9 at Four with Lauren Nelson.
Eckert began her career at KENS-TV in San Antonio, Texas as a weekend morning anchor and reporter. She then moved to WLVI-TV in Boston, Massachusetts to work as the station's weekend anchor. Eckert has covered hurricanes that battered the Gulf Coast, devastating floods that affected the Rio Grande Valley and 9-11 from Logan Airport where two of the hijacked planes originated. Eckert has also covered stories that have taken her to Mexico and Italy.
Eckert has spent countless hours helping fight Cystic Fibrosis, along with volunteering for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, several children's hospitals and mentoring elementary school children. Since moving to Oklahoma six years ago, Eckert has been actively involved in the Junior League of Oklahoma City as well as the RunHers Women's Group.
In her spare time, Eckert enjoys running and photography, along with spending time with her husband, Bryan, and their two daughters, Avery and Gillian. She and her family are also active members of New Covenant United Methodist Church in Edmond.
