EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Over 100 calls have poured into the Edmond Animal Shelter in an interest to adopt a dog that was abandoned during the snow storm a week ago, but he still needs a new home.

The German Shepherd mix was named Ho'kee which is the Navajo word for "abandoned." Soon, volunteers hope Ho'kee won't be abandoned anymore.

People interested in adopting him were able to place a "bid" for what they are willing to pay for his adoption between noon and 3 p.m. Friday.

"He's got a lot of energy and he's definitely a lot happier now compared to a week ago," David Shafer, an Edmond Animal Shelter volunteer said, "By this time tomorrow, he's going to have a new home."

But after no one showed up at the shelter, Ho'kee has yet to find a new owner.

"We'll continue on to see if we can get him adopted. We'll hang on to him for as long as it takes" said Edmond Police Officer Michael Sullivan.

Ho'kee is vaccinated, neutered and micro chipped. If you'd like to check him out, the shelter is open from noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
