OKLAHOMA CITY -- A suspect in a home invasion/robbery in northwest Oklahoma City was found dead minutes after fleeing from police.

Oklahoma City police say three men and a woman forced their way into a house in the 11000 block of N. McKinley around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24. The victim called police after the intruders left and provided descriptions of the suspects and their car.

An officer on his way to the scene spotted a car matching the victim's description. Three of the four suspects were in the vehicle. The officer attempted to pull over the car, and the driver pulled into a driveway near N.W. 97th Street and Western.

One of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The car's driver then sped away. The police officer briefly lost sight of the car, but found it near N.W. 98th Street and Military. The suspects had abandoned the car, and it was rolling backward in the street. It struck a tree and stopped.

A few minutes later, the body of one of the suspects was found between N.W. 97th and N.W. 98th Streets on N. Military, about a block away from the abandoned car. Police don't yet know his name, or how he died.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at (405) 297-1200.
